Out of Tragedy
A defining moment came in 1984, after a severe back injury meant the end of playing all sport. As a result, Peter turned to fine art as a hobby. Since he was twelve years old, his dream had been to do fine art.
In spite of the limitations caused by his back injury, he was able to focus on his art and develop his ability to the point that it is now his sole source of income. |

|
Breakthrough:
His first fine art painting was completed in 1985. It was a significant victory in spite of the obstacles he faced.
Although self taught, his artistic skill was enhanced by receiving key insights from the artist, Hannes du Plessis.
His first sale was through the Crake Gallery in 1988.
The use of chiaroscuro, a complex palette of subdued colours, and ambience, enhances his paintings. |

Observation:
From the age of fifteen, he focused on observing other artists and their work. Through perseverance he developed his own skill as an artist.
Since 1966, it has inspired him to continue to practise and develop his unique style even further.
Born in London in 1951, he attended school in Billericay, England.
Today, Peter lives with his wife and children in Gauteng, South Africa. |
